Brews, Bites and the Future of Search

We recently hosted our final event of the year: a networking happy hour for DC tech policy professionals.

The timing was noteworthy, as the Department of Justice had just filed its recommendations for competition remedies in the Google search antitrust case. This case could reshape the search engine market and impact how we use online search. Joseph Jerome from DuckDuckGo highlighted that the outcome might also influence areas like privacy and intellectual property.

It was a full house of policy professionals, spending the evening making new connections and catching up with colleagues – a pleasant start to the holiday season. In the new year, we’ll be keen to see how potential changes in the search market might affect innovation and user choice.

Thanks to everyone who joined us and to DuckDuckGo for sponsoring the event. For future Foundry events, subscribe to our mailing list and follow us on LinkedIn, X, YouTube, and Bluesky. To partner with the Foundry, contact us: [email protected].
