OUT AND ABOUT — D.C. TECHIES TURN OUT FOR THE FOUNDRY’S LAUNCH: The Internet Law and Policy Foundry officially launched last night with an Electronic Frontier Foundation hosted trivia night, sponsored by ZwillGen. A number of tech policy shops competed, including the Center for Democracy and Technology, the Center for the Protection of Intellectual Property, Open Technology Institute, Upturn, Public Knowledge, and the night’s winners, the Computer and Communications Industry Association with Matt Schruers, Ali Sternburg, Bijan Madhani, Daniel O’Connor, Deborah Goldman, Rachael Stelly and Chelsea Reckell.
Also spotted were FCC and Capitol Hill staffers, including Austin Carson with Rep. Blake Farenthold; Tim Lordan, Miranda Bogen and Rhianon Anderson with the Internet Education Foundation; Google’s George Ivanov, Jennifer Bernal and Rob Mahirini; Nika Nour with The Internet Association; Rachel Wolbers with TwinLogic Strategies; Heather West with CloudFlare; and Tom Struble with TechFreedom.
