Hannah Poteat is the Privacy & IP Counsel at GitHub, Inc, where she works on a wide range of cutting-edge issues from international privacy compliance to incident response to the nexus of open source licensing and the DMCA. Prior to her legal career, Hannah worked in internet security for fourteen years.

She is certified as CIPP/US by the International Association of Privacy Professionals, and is very active in both the ABA and California State Bar Intellectual Property sections.
