Khristal Thomas serves as a Senior Cyber & Tech Risk Manager on the Enterprise Services Tech Risk team at Capital One. She applies risk management and cyber expertise to drive organizational change through risk identification, measurement, analysis and reporting to better manage the company’s technology risk.
Prior to joining Capital One, Khristal worked on the Technology Risk team at Goldman Sachs. While there, she supported the firm’s Chief Information Security Officer by analyzing global regulatory requirements and identifying potential gaps in the Information Security Program.
Previously, Khristal worked as a Policy Analyst on the NGA Solutions’ Homeland Security & Public Safety team, focusing on state cybersecurity policy and emergency communications. Khristal has also served as an Intern at the Center for Strategic and International Studies where she conducted quantitative and qualitative analysis on fifth-generation technology and other emerging digital technologies. She has also worked as a Legislative Strategy Intern for The Software Alliance, where she worked closely with executive leadership on activities that support BSA’s policy goals, corporate positioning, and reputation.
Khristal has her Master of Science in Public Policy, Science and Technology Policy from George Mason University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Lane College.
