Luisa is a Brazilian professional with a legal and corporate background based in Washington, D.C. She holds experience in creating and implementing data privacy programs that enable innovation while navigating data risks with pragmatic solutions.
With over five years of experience, Luisa worked at a “Big Four” consulting firm on privacy and data protection global projects before becoming an in-house data protection counsel in the biggest Latin America PropTech Startup. Currently, she professionally works at IDB, a multilateral organization, with the implementation of the Data Privacy Policy.
Luisa holds a Law bachelor’s degree from the University of the Itajaí Valley with one year of student exchange at Coimbra University in Portugal, a postgraduate diploma in corporate law from Insper, a latu sense post-graduation in digital law from Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV-Law) and is member of Brazilian Bar Association.
Luisa was awarded scholarships from the Institute for Technology and Society of Rio de Janeiro (ITS Rio) for the Geneva Digital Law Summer School and from the Latin America Institute of Business (LAIOB) for the Strategic Marketing Management at Ohio State University executive program.
Luisa is also an alumnus of the international leadership program from Wyse NGO in Italy, a mentee at Global Thinkers Forum in the Telemachus program and a volunteer at ‘Juventude Privada’ a socio-educational Brazilian project for teaching privacy, data protection, security and digital ethics in schools and for general society.
