Nikki Bourassa is a program and policy officer at the Global Network Initiative. She focuses on expanding the diversity of GNI’s membership and developing GNI’s global policy work on issues including intermediary liability, jurisdiction assertions and limits, network disruptions, and surveillance.
She came to GNI from the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University, where she supported research on disinformation and the broader phenomenon of harmful speech online. Prior to Berkman Klein, she collaborated with human rights defenders, political activists, and independent journalists to develop and implement digital security and internet policy advocacy capacity-building programs around the world. Nikki holds a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University, where she was captain of the women’s rowing team and president of the university’s Panhellenic Association.
