Smita is a Product Counsel at Apple where she advises cross-functional teams on worldwide regulatory, compliance, and legal issues related to new and existing products. Prior to Apple, Smita worked at two international law firms in the San Francisco bay area. At these firms, her practice was focused on technology transactions.

Smita is CIPP/US certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals and served as a “Young Privacy Professional Leader for the San Francisco Bay Area” in 2017.  Smita was featured in the 2020 Unstoppable Women List published by HCL and the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals. She serves on the boards of UN Women USA SF, the South Asian Bar Association and the Berkeley Law Alumni Association. In her spare time, Smita enjoys writing poetry, improv, and playing with her puppy.
